Close to 200 canoes participated in the 3rd annual Paddle for the Peace. The Peace Valley Environmental Association and the West Moberly First Naion hosted the Site C Protest on the banks of the Peace River and in an area that could be flooded if the dam is built. Chief Roland Wilson with the West Moberly First Nation sasys the event is about showing the government that the people of this region don’t want another dam on the Peace River.

The early estimate is about 400 people participated in the annual event. BC Hydro continues it’s pre-consultation phase with Site C and it oculd be another 4 years before there is a decision to build the dam or not.
