moves forward with its Site C pre-consultation process, opponents of a third dam on the Peace River are poised for another protest. This year’s Paddle for the Peace Event is set for Saturday and will parallel the one in 2007 which drew more than 300 participants.

This year, participants will gather at the Halfway River Bridge, on Highway 29.

The launch is scheduled for 11 am and will conclude at Bear Flats, about 17 km downstream, with a campground dinner. The dinner will be sponsored by the West Moberly First Nations, a co-sponsor of the event, along with the Peace Valley Environment Association.
