al Government is feeling some heat to increase the minimum wage from the current $8 an hour. Earlier today, Labour Minister Ian Black said it isn’t going to happen. NDP Leader Carole James says a hike in the minimum wage could be accomplished by giving a tax break to business at the same time.

James says we’re not just talking about students, but about immigrants and older workers trying to make ends meet. The BC Federation of Labour is calling for an increase to $10 an hour.
