The value of construction in Fort St. John was down 50 percent last month, from what it was in June of 2007.
However, on a year-to-date basis it’s still about ten million dollars ahead, of last year’s pace.
There were 32 permits issued last month, for a total value of just over 6 million 600 thousand dollars.
That compares to more than 12 million for the 33 permits issued, in June of 2007.
However, in the first six months of this year, 144 permits were issued valued at nearly 49 million dollars.
By comparison, the value of the 135 issued in the first half of last year, was less than 39 million.
The key to the-year-over year difference remains the Enerplex permit, issued in March of this year for over 23 million.
As for city revenue, the year-to-date total is just under 115 thousand dollars, as compared to last year’s first half total of about 108 thousand 500.
