We’re still 75 millimeters short of the monthly norm but, Fort St. John has totalled 8.2 millimeters of rain, in the past 24 hours. Most of it fell in the thunder and lightning storm, which struck last night just before midnight. It followed another very warm day yesterday, with a high temperature of 29.5 degrees. However, it again fell about two degrees short, of the July 3rd record set two years ago, at 31.4. Today we’re looking for a high of only 26, so the 1968 daily record, of 31.7 seems safe. We’re also expecting more rain today but, judging by the forecast, the 1971 July 4th record, of 31.7 millimeters, also appears to be safe.
