The reason for the closure is the drop in water levels on the Peace River. BC Hydro is holding water for potential power production and releasing the minimum amount and to protect the domestic service the district has made this decision.
The District is also reminding residents that Stage 1 Water Restrictions are now in effect. Stage 1 restrictions area as follows:
Residential Lawn watering on odd calendar days between the hours of 6am and 8am and 8pm and 10pm.
Residents caught watering outside of these times will be finded 100 dollars. If the demand for water continues at it’s current rate the District will have to impliment Stage 3 restrictions – banning all lawn watering. For futher information contact the District office at 250-789-3392
