Paddle for the Peace

As BC Hydro moves forward with its Site C Pre-consultation process, opponents of the third dam on the Peace prepare, for another protest.

This year’s Paddle for the Peace Event is set for July 12th and, will parallel the one in 2007, which drew more than 300 participants.

This year they will gather at the Halfway River Bridge on Highway 29 and, the launch is scheduled for 11am.

It will conclude at Bear Flats, about 17 kilometers down stream, with a campground dinner.

The dinner will be sponsored by the West Moberly First Nations, a co-sponsor of the event along with the Peace Valley Environment Association.

Registration is five dollars per person but, free for children under 13 years of age.
