The Windfall Creek wild fire about 40 kilometers southwest of Tumbler Ridge, still covers about 80 hectares.
At last report about 40 fire-fighters were battling the blaze on the ground, along with multiple helicopters.
It is one of two fires of note in the the local fire region.
The other one covers about 130 hectares, about 80 kilometers southwest of Mackenzie.
However, the Prince George Fire Center reported 14 new fires on Canada Day and, the fire danger rating has been pegged as moderate to high throughout the local region.
With another forecast high of 29 today, along with the risk of more thunder storms and lightning, more fire starts are anticipated.
Little can be done to prevent weather related fires but, the centre is asking the public to be extremely careful with campfires.
