Brandt Tractor Dispute

The three week Brandt Tractor labor dispute is headed for binding arbitration.

The ruling by mediator Mark Atkinson brought to an end a strike, which began on June 11th and, employees at all BC locations returned to work yesterday.

The ruling put in place on July first a tentative deal reached on June 27th, which includes wage hikes of 22 percent over four years.

It also calls for increases in tool and boot allowances, shift premiums, meal allowances and pension contributions.

Brandt Tractor is located in thirteen BC communities, including Fort St. John and Fort Nelson in the northeast.

It’s workers are members of the International Union of Operating Engineers, local 115.
