Hospital Location Picked

chosen a location for the new Fort St. John Hospital. During last night’s regular meeting, city council decided to support the proposal, which will see the hospital built on the South side of the property, between the East Bypass Road and 86th Street. This is essentially the third proposal for the site – after the original two put the hospital on the southeast and southwest corners of the lot. This location aims to take advantage of the flatter land further west, it sits adjacent to the wetlands in the far southwest corner of the lot, and it keeps the hospital from sitting directly on 86th Street. The main entrance of the facility will be via the roundabout on 86th street. Mayor Jim Eglinski says the majority of the public who attended the public meeting last week didn’t seem to care where on the property the hospital went.

The new location will now go back to Northern Health for further architectural planning. And, if you want to see the current plan, just visit moosefm-dot.ca.
