The city of Fort St. John will formally open its new walking trail systems tonight.

The South Anneofield, East By-Pass Road and, North-west trails are the result, of the city accessing the 40 million dollar provincial LocalMotion fund.

Introduced in 2006 by Premier Campbell it is designed to reduce community green house gas emissions and, to support physical activity.

Residents are encouraged to come out this evening for the ribbon cutting ceremony and, to learn more about the cities’ Active Community initiatives.

The official opening is set for seven o’clock south of the water tower, on the East Bypass Road walking trail.
