The Fort St. John RCMP is investigating after an assault at a camp site at Beatton River.

The incident happened early Sunday morning and police were called to the scene just after 4 a.m.
Police say there were several teenagers and adults having a party at a camping area off of 103 rd. outside of Fort St. John, when different people began fighting.

One person then went and got some friends who brought weapons to the area and confronted the people at the party.

They say various weapons were involved, including baseball bats, two by fours, and batons.

Several people were taken to the Fort St. John hospital with undisclosed injuries related to the fight and police say there were reports that one person had a handgun, but there have been no injuries reported as a result of being shot.

Two men have been arrested and the police are still looking for more suspects.
