Local tweeter nominated for social media award

A resident of Fort St. John is being recognized for his professional passion for social media.

Kyle Thomas, AKA @KyleWith, has been nominated, along with 15 other nominees, for the Most Inspiring Social Media User Award, being presented by the Social Media Camp Conference.

The award, known as the Western Canada Social Media Award, is presented to the person, company or organization that has truly inspired those around them with their use of social media, whether it is for business, personal, or philanthropic.

The award is being presented by the Social Media Camp Conference, where anyone interested has the opportunity to vote on their favorite nominee in each category.

Thomas says it’s an honour to be having his work, which he has been doing for over two years now, recognized throughout western Canada.

From May 16 until 23, the public will vote on their top choice from each of the multiple categories, some of which include Social Media Campaign of the Year, Best Blog and Funniest Tweet Award.

The winner of each category will be selected by a panel of judges and will be announced at the Social Media Camp Networking Dinner Reception at the Victoria Reception Centre on June 3, 2011.
