The North Peace SPCA is not equipped or specifically trained to deal with wild life at our shelter. If you encounter a wild animal of any kind, even if it looks like it is alone or injured, do NOT touch it or feed it. The parent of that animal may be near, but in hiding. Some wild animals, such as fox cubs may look like dog puppies, but they are still wild animals and should be respected as such. Please keep your dogs on leashes at all times in the community forests and along trails to avoid potential problems.
Here is a link to the Ministry of Environment Conservation Officer Service. These are the people that are able to deal with wild animal questions and encounters endangering human safety.
Thanks for your help!
