What a busy weekend! And Happy National Volunteers Week!

The North Peace Justice Society had a booth in the CKNL Tradeshow this weekend and over 14,000 people came through the doors! We had 23 people sign up to be Society members and 7 people sign up to become facilitators! That to me is a huge success!

The booth was manned by my volunteer board of directors! They put in hours standing and visiting with all the people who came to the trade show. Their committment to developing a quality program has been outstanding! The restorative justice program is all run by volunteers! The facilitators are the ones who bring together the first time offenders and the victims of crime and help everyone create a solution to the situation. I shudder to think about what would happen should these caring individuals had decided not to volunteer! Big THANK YOU’S to Candace, Dan, Mandy, Alex and Sassy! You are the best board of directors I know! THANK YOU to Cindy, Julie, Shane, Lindsay, Betty, Theresa and Erin! You are amazing people who help create solutions and resolutions!

There are a few opportunities to be a volunteer with our organization. We still have memberships available for $10 and our AGM is on April 25th at 7 pm (10142-101 ave Execuplace across from the main post office) or you can sign up to become a trained facilitator. We have spaces left for 8 people in our June 7, 8, 9, and 10th training session. If you would like to take part in our society please e-mail restorativejustice@telus.net and we will be happy to have you join us!
