Dana Cranston, Team Canada off to good start at Summer Universiade in Russia

Shanice Marcelle of Victoria led the way for the team with five kills. She also had three blocks and 12 digs during the contest.

The team was expected to face Algeria tomorrow, however the team dropped out just before the tournament began. As a result, the squad will have an off day tomorrow before meeting with Brazil, the defending champions from the last Universiade games.

Wednesday’s game gets started at 4 a.m. local time.
