Final day to register for weekend slo-pitch tournament

There is still time for teams to sign up for this weekend’s slo-pitch tournament. Wednesday, July 11 is the final day to register for the second annual FAIT Charity Poker Slo-Pitch Tournament, scheduled to take place in Fort St. John Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15.

The tournament will be co-ed, and teams must consist of at least 6 men and 4 women.

Competing teams will be guaranteed at least five games over the weekend and the tournament will run in a round robin style of play.

A side game will also be played throughout the tournament, where teams collect playing cards following each game, and the team holding the best poker hand at the end will receive a prize. A 50/50 draw will also be taking place over the weekend.

Food and beverages will also be available throughout the weekend tournament, including a concession stand, as well as a beer garden.

The festivities will be held at Fort St. John’s Surerus Ball Diamonds, and costs $350 per team, which must be submitted by the first game of the tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to KidSport B.C., while money raised from the concession stands will go towards the Baldonnel PAC playground.

For more information on this weekend’s tournament, or to register a team, contact Cheralee at 250-793-9766 or email fsjslowpitch@telus.net.
