The allocation of money to the swim club is part of the latest round of grants from the provincial gaming revenue, where a total of $3,775,327 will be shared between 137 recipients.
Peace River South MLA Blair Lekstrom spoke about the importance of funding for these organizations, specifically with regards to youth.
“As a youth, I was a member of the Dawson Creek Seals Swim Club and I’m happy to know our government recognizes the importance of supporting community swim teams. They are a great way for youth to socialize, keep active, and stay involved in their communities.”
Lekstrom also extended his thanks the coaches and parents, who help in making the Swim Club a success.
