Local swimmers down south to compete in Provincials

The Inconnu Swim Club has a record number of swimmers competing down south for provincial championships. From July 5-8, 10 members of Fort St. John’s Inconnu Swim Club will be competing at the 2012 B.C. AAA Long Course Championship, part of Richmond B.C.’s Watermania.

The ten swimmers competing in the event is the largest number the club has ever had qualify for the provincial competition.

The group of local swimmers, along with 600 other provincial competitors, will be racing to determine who will finish this year’s swimming season with the best provincial time.

Along with provincial praise, the competition will also provide swimmers an opportunity to earn a spot at the upcoming National Championships, being held at the end of July.

The Inconnu swimmers, ranging from ages 11-17, will be competing in a variety of individual and relay categories throughout the three day competition.
