Peace Region represented at Alberta curling tournament
On the women’s side of the tournament, Fort St. John’s Jodi Busche, fresh off winning the Fort St. John Ladies Bonspiel last weekend, is one team representing the Peace. The other, skipped by Marlene Maxwell, will also be competing in the event, representing Dawson Creek.
The women will be up against some stiff competition, as they will potentially be competing against Calgary’s Diane Foster, a former Canadian and World Senior champion, who will be competing to win a third straight Alberta title.
Focusing on the men’s portion of the tournament, Fort St. John’s Glen Godberson will be competing. Apparently, curling runs in his family, as last Sunday, his cousin, Heather Nedohin captured the Scotties Alberta Women’s title in Leduc,Alta.
Also representing the men from the Peace Region is Dawson Creek’s Randy Maxwell.
The Alberta champions will advance to the Canadian senior championships, which begin March 17 in Abbotsford, B.C.
