Blizzard Bike Club back for 30th season

Participants of the Blizzard Bike Club can officially begin marking their calendar for this season. The bike club’s first event begins March 4, when the club will hit the roads for a challenging early season Baldonnel Road race. The club’s last event will be raced on Oct.28.

This year, the season highlight will take place the weekend of June 9, as the club will be celebrating its 30 year in existence, as it was started back in 1983.

This season will include 23 time trials, 10 Cyclo cross races, 24 mountain bike races, 5 duathlons, 1 triathlon, 2 hill climbs and 20 massed start road events.

Rides with the club’s coaches will begin in June, and will take place during 10 weekly sessions.

Winter turbo training will continue twice a week until the end of March.

This year, the mountain bike races were substantially expanded to 24 events, which will be raced on the Club’s expanded “Beatton Cactus” circuit.

Club memberships cost $40 for the season, and for more information, either call Ferris Fast Cycles at 250-785-3711 or visit the club’s official website.
