Mile Zero Meltdown back with Volbeat and Danko Jones

Danish rock band VOLBEAT and Canadian rock band Danko Jones will shake things up at the “Mile Zero Meltdown” at Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek, BC on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Mile Zero Meltdown will include special guests that will be announced closer to the event.

Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, November 16 at 10 a.m. local time. All tickets are priced at $41, plus applicable fees. Tickets may be purchased online at dawsonco-optickets.com, by phone at 1-877-339-8499, and in person at the Dawson Co-op High Performance Outlet or the Tiger Box Office Plus in the Encana Events Centre.

Volbeat is a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, punk and rockabilly. They are inspired by classic rock and roll artists such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, as well as more contemporary hard rock, punk rock and metal bands, such as AC/DC, Social Distortion, The Misfits, Napalm Death and Metallica. Their line-up consists of vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen, guitarist Thomas Bredahl, bassist Anders Kjølholm and drummer Jon Larsen.

Hailing from Canada, Danko Jones is a trio consisting of frontman and lead guitarist, Danko Jones, John Clabrese on bass, and Atom Willard on drums. All three guys pack a punch. As hard as they rock on album, they do so even more in a live setting. It’s the true tell tale sign that a band is truly good. Danko’s brand of rock is heavily influenced by AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and others. It’s pure old school hard rock, It’s about chicks, bad luck, hard times, being pissed off, and rockin’. It’s like the blues. It’s escapism that borders on reality. There’s truth in them thar lies.
