Unemployment rate increases in Northeast B.C.

This region still has the lowest unemployment rate in the Province with 39,400 people working compared to 39,500 people working in May.  In June of 2011, the unemployment rate was 4.0 per cent with 38,000 people working.

Victoria has an unemployment rate of 4.9 while the North Coast region has a rate of 12.2 per cent.  The Provincial unemployment rate dropped to 6.7 from 6.9 per cent in May.
