Hot Rods to take over Mile 0 City

Dawson Creek will be hot rod central this weekend as the Mile 0 City is hosting the biggest show and shine in the North. Taking place in Dawson Creek July 6-8, will be the 18th annual Summer Cruise Weekend, featuring fun-filled events, tasty treats and the main attraction of over 250 cars filling six city blocks.

The fun begins Friday, June 6 with registration, followed cruise night which starts at the Dawson Creek CO-OP. The evening will also include music, a Barbeque and Hot Wheels races.

Saturday, July 7, the Treasure Hunt Poker Rally will be taking place from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Anyone taking place is being asked to meet at the Walter Wright Pioneer Village, with the rally hitting the streets of Dawson Creek at 11 a.m.

Following the Poker Rally, a steak dinner will be held at the Pioneer Village, with dinner being called for 5 p.m., followed by an out of town cruise.

Sunday, July 8 will be hot rod heaven, as over 250 cars are expected to arrive in Dawson Creek, filling over six blocks and surrounding the world famous Mile Zero Post. The Show and Shine event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 2:30 p.m.

Sunday afternoon will also feature an awards ceremony, including a variety of prize draws, and awards for “Your Favorite 10 Awards”. Awards and Draws will be held from 2:30 until 3:30 Sunday afternoon.
