To follow will be a General Church Service, led by Evangel Chapel, starting at 9:00 am. They invite and encourage people of all denominations and faiths to attend the service.
At 10:00 a.m. they will start the marshaling of the parade, which doesn’t start until 11:00 am, but this would be a good time to find a spot to watch the parade from, as the streets fill quickly. The parade marshalling will be at the North Peace Arena and the parade will proceed from there on to 96 Avenue, making a right onto 100 Street. The parade will follow up main Street and make another right at 108 Avenue. Shortly after, the parade will make another right onto 98 Street, following all the way down to 101 Avenue, where the parade will make a left and follow for a block. They will make one more right and follow that last straight stretch back to the arena.

At the same time as the parade, at 10:00 a.m. the Classic Cruiser Show and Shine will take place at the base of 100 Street. That will run all day as part of the Canada Day celebrations.
At 12:00 p.m. the main event will take place: celebrations in the park! The celebrations will include entertainment, inflatable bouncy toys for the kids, many other activities for children and families and to top it all off the celebrations will include the Farmers Market, and Art in the Park!

To follow all this excitement, head over to North Peace Secondary School, where more fantastic events have been planned for you and your family. Families are being asked to bring a recyclable item to turn into a musical instrument they can play in the Jam Session. Things like water jugs, pop cans, plastic utensils, etc. are all great ideas.
Following the Jam Session from about 8:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. there will e live music from various groups including Mel Larkin, 9 Mile, and Brian McMillan.
The night will end with a fantastic firework show at North Peace Secondary School at 11:00 p.m., to celebrate Canada’s birthday. The fireworks show is an annual event and is always spectacular.
The City of Fort St. John is asking that if you are attending any events on Canada Day to please bring a lawn chair, blanket, or something to sit on as there will be no seating provided at Centennial Park or North Peace Secondary School.
