Council presents Scott Travis with Long-Service Award

Travis began working for the City on Feb.20, 1997, as a part-time maintenance worker for the Recreational and Leisure Services Department.

Over the next several years, he gained experience at a variety of City worksite locations in various positions as a labourer, pipe layer, utility maintenance worker and a facilities maintenance technician.

In Oct. 2007, Travis switched gears by becoming an Equipment Operator 1 for the Public Works Department.

According to his co workers, Travis is reliable, dependable and also takes excellent care of the City’s sports fields.

All of these achievements and attributes helped Travis earn this award.
