School buses will not run at start of next week

School buses in School District #60 won’t be shifting into drive to start next week. On Friday, March 2, Superintendent of Schools Larry Espe released a statement, saying that school buses will not be running through Monday, March 5, to Wednesday, March 7.

The lack of buses is a result of the escalating strike action by the B.C. Teacher’s Federation.

Regular bus services will resume following the conclusion of the strike.

Monday, March 5 is a scheduled Non Instruction Day, so schools will already be closed to students.

However, Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7, schools will be open and the School District is requesting that parents not send their children to school as there will be no instruction and also can’t guarantee an appropriate level of supervision.
