There was relatively good news Thursday from the Provincial department of Energy, when it finally published the report on Wednesday's February sale of natural gas and petroleum rights.
It resulted in 24.3 million dollars in bonus bids, nearly 12 times the 2.1 million dollar total for the same month last year.
That is also the best February sale, since the one for 117.2 million dollars, in the 2008 record calendar year of 2.6 billion.
This week's sale delivered a per hectare price of just under 12 hundred dollars, as 17 parcels, covering just under 21 thousand hectares were sold.
The two-month bonus bid total this year is now 56.5 million dollars, as compared to just 10 million for the same period last year.
