Arrests made after armed robbery in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – 3 people are in custody and facing numerous charges after an armed robbery in Prince George over the weekend.

On December 16th, 2016 at approximately 9:20 p.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of an Armed Robbery at a convenience store near 1st Avenue and Tabor Boulevard in Prince George.

Police say multiple officers attended the scene, including two Police Dog Service teams.  It seems that two masked suspects entered the business and brandished a handgun & bear spray before they fled with a small amount of cash to a nearby vehicle. Nobody was injured.

At around 9:45 that same night, a suspect vehicle was located being driven on Birchwood Drive.  One of the 3 suspects in the vehicle fled on foot and was immediately arrested.  The 27-year-old male was found in possession of a gun.  Police did not follow the vehicle.

Police say a few minutes later, the suspect vehicle was located on Highway 97 turning westbound onto Chief Lake Road.  A spike belt was deployed and disabled the vehicle, a Plymouth Voyager (reported stolen the next day).  The two male occupants, ages 22 and 24, were taken into custody, one with the assistance of Police Service Dog ‘Dero’.

All 3 were scheduled to make court appearances today.
